William P. Raup

1951 - 2018

William P. Raup, 66, of Myrtle St., Milton passed away on February 19, 2018 at Williamsport Hospital.  Born in Lewisburg on March 12, 1951, he was the son of the late Paul R. and Betty R. (Budd) Raup.

 William was a 1969 graduate of Milton High School and a 1971 graduate from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.  He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Milton.  He worked as the paint department manager at Cole’s Hardware in Milton.  William was a skilled artist.  He designed and made the Landmark Collection, which are pottery recreations of historical buildings in the Milton area.  He also designed and painted countless sets for the Milton High School plays and for M.A.T.O.T.A.  He was a member of the Milton Historical Society and was involved with the Cameron House.  William will be greatly missed by his cat, Prudence.

 He is survived by two sisters, Kate Bailor of Lewisburg and Holly Snyder and husband, Ben of Milton; a nephew, Jeremy Snyder and partner, Jill Bua; a niece, Lara Platt and husband, David; a grandniece, Grace Snyder; and two grandnephews, Elijah Platt and Josiah Platt.

 William was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother in law Gary Bailor.

 Friends and relatives will be received from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, February 23 at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jamie Dries officiating.  Burial will be in Milton Cemetery.

So sorry for your loss. I also lost a great friend and employee. He will be greatly missed by everyone at Cole's. Prudence is holding her own, but I know she is greatly missing him also. Tony Perzia
