Patricia T. Hines

1962 - 2019

Patricia T. Hines, 57, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Killeen, TX on April 1, 1962, she was the daughter of Norma (Johnston) Turner of Temple, TX and the late L.L. Turner.  She was married to Steven F. Hines on June 1, 1985, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Temple, Texas. A honeymoon to the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania followed, where she told Steve that we will come back here one day to live.   Her death breaks a union of 34 years.

Patricia was a 1980 graduate of Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas, and a 1984 graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in music and a 1998 graduate of Bloomsburg University with a degree in elementary education. It was at Stephen F. Austin that she met her husband Steve, through their membership in the Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity and the APO Little Sisters chapter.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, Watsontown, where she was the choir director for 13 years. She also spent time as the Youth Group Leader and loved it dearly. She taught Music at Danville Middle School, and she was a substitute teacher in Milton and surrounding school districts. She also taught private piano, guitar and voice lessons out of her home. She loved teaching music more than anything, and once said that if we were rich, she would still teach music for free.

Some of her favorite activities involved playing games, from board games and card games to word search and crosswords, as well as being a Game Show channel fanatic.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, William Turner. She is survived by her mother, Norma Turner, sister in law Beverly Hines, brother in law Martin Hines, and many cousins and friends.

Friends and relatives will be received at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church 10275 State Route 44, Watsontown, PA on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.  A Memorial service will begin at 4:00 with Pastor Don L. Snyder Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to alz.org/donate or to cancer.org/involved/donate.

Condolences

You will always be loved and missed! You both have been such great friends and our hearts and prayers will always be with you!

Patti will be missed by all. I feel blessed to have met her, even though I only saw her once a year. She had a smile that would light up a room.

I'm sure 1 day I'll see her in heaven...

My heartfelt condolences go out to you Steve and your family. I have so many wonderful memories of my friend Patty and am sadden that I could not be there with you to celebrate her life. I am blessed to have known her and she will be missed. Until I see her again, I know she is at peace running through a field of Texas Bluebonnets, singing joyfully, SHOUTING the Eagles Fight Song and cheering on the Texas LongHorns! May you be comforted by each other and the Lord our God as you celebrate her life. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Patty will always be in our prayers Steve. We love you and if you need us PLEASE CALL!Our phone number is 936-294-7240.
