Neil W. Mummey

1938 - 2019

Neil W. Mummey, 81, of Milton passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019 in Northumberland.

Born in Milton on February 17, 1938, he was the son of Walter G. and Rhoda (Wynn) Mummey.

He was a 1956 graduate of Milton High School.  He had worked for Hackenberg Chevrolet preparing new cars for sale and for the Milton Sewer Authority as a plant operator.

Neil loved cars, roller skating, travel and collectibles.  He was especially fond of Jiminy Cricket.  One of his favorite activities was to spend time at Knoebels Grove and grab the ring from the carousel.  He was a caring, kind person, with a good sense of humor, who enjoyed helping others.  He will be missed by many.

Neil is survived by a brother Dale Mummey; a niece Janet Fogg; a nephew Craig Mummey; two grandnieces Sarah Fogg and Julia Fogg; his friend and companion Diane Totten; two cousins Joyce Osman and Mary Frances Zimmerman; and many friends in the Milton area.

Neil’s family would like to thank the staff at Evangelical Community Hospital, Rockwell Retirement Center, and Nottingham Village.

Private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 4250 Crums Mill Road, suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17112; or to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research at www.michaeljfox.org.

Condolences

I remember Neil from when he worked for my grandfather, at Fulmer Motor Co. He was always kind to me when I would hang around the shop, always had a smile on his face for everyone.

Always happy Neil was a joy to know. He worked with my father at Fulmer's and Hackenbergs Chevy garage. He never seemed to be in a bad mood. Always had a smile. Will miss seeing him around town, lately at the doctor's office. As we age we all seem to spend more time at the doctors. Rest in peace dear Neil. You will be missed. God Bless

Neil was a good neighbor. Going to miss him sitting on his back porch.
