Ira R. Kline

1926 - 2018

   Ira R. Kline, 92, of Franklin Ave, Milton went home to be with his Lord on September 9, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center. Born in White Deer Township in Union County on August 7, 1926. He was the oldest of five children of Norman Kline and Carrie (Bowersox) Kline. He was married for over 66 years to the late Doris (Erb) Kline.


   Ira Lived with his grandparents Ira and Annie Bowersox through first grade, at which time he moved back home with his parents. Ira attended school at Sunrise, Ramsey and Red Top schools. He attended high school at Milton High School.


   Ira married the love of his life Doris M. Erb on August 12, 1944. Ira and Doris lived in George Newman’s farm house after their marriage. Ira worked for Raymond Rehine for 2 years and Jake Jarhon for about 6 months. He joined the Air Force and served 2 years in Europe, at the end of his tour of duty, Ira came back to Milton and went to work at Milton Steel starting as a laborer and working his way to Shop Superintendent. Ira worked for Milton Steel for 44 years until his retirement. Ira and Doris lived on Cherry Street raising their 6 children. Their house went through the 1972 flood, they would later move to their home on Franklin Ave.


   Ira served as a minister of the United Pentecostal Church International receiving an award for 60 years in the ministry. He spent his life helping and ministering to many churches, serving as intern pastor in Hazelton, PA for an extended period. Ira was noted for his extensive bible studies and his teaching of the Book of Revelation.


   Ira is preceded in death by his wife Doris Kline; two sons, I. Ray Kline and Barry Kline; his father and mother, Norman and Carrie (Bowersox) Kline; One sister, Joyce Snyder and two grandsons, Ronald Wagner and David Puckett Jr.


   Ira is survived by one son, Wayne (Mary) Kline, of Dove Creek, Colorado; three daughters, Evelyn (Bob) Pistone, of Yuma, Arizona; Peggy Thornton, of Meridian, Mississippi, and Sharon (David) Puckett, of Williston, North Dakota. Three sisters, Carolyn (Walter) Neitz, Gloria Yerg and Norma (James) Catherman. Fourteen grandchildren, Rodney and Robert Wagner, Robert Pistone, Dana Amsbaugh, Beth Lerch, Ira Kline, Andrea Fuentes, Wayne Kline II, Karen Kibel and Erik Kline,  Robert Benfer, Jennifer Schickel, Michael Kline and Tony Puckett. Twenty-seven great grandchildren and twelve great, great grandchildren.


Friends and relatives will be received from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday September 16 at the Shaw Funeral Home 400 N Front St. Milton, with the funeral homecoming service at 10 a.m. on Monday at Revival Tabernacle 960 Susquehanna Trail, Watsontown. Burial with military honors will be in Mazeppa Cemetery

Ira was a POS and didn't deserve the long life he had. I hope he enjoys his time in hell.
