Hilda V. Gundrum

1922 - 2019



Hilda V. Gundrum, 97, of Carlisle, formerly of Milton, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at the Carlisle Regional Hospital.

Born in Potts Grove on May 17, 1922, a daughter of Franklin Thomas and Esther (Stanton) Hilkert.  She was married to Harry Edward Gundrum Jr. until his death in 1982.

In her younger years, she enjoyed riding motorcycles and boating with her husband and taking bus trips.  To those closest to her she was known as mom, Nanny, NeeNee, and Queen to one of her great grandsons.  She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, especially beef potpie, salad, cinnamon buns and her famous iced tea.

Hilda is survived by tree children Harry E. Gundrum III and his wife Carol of Milton, Susan (Gundrum) Batdorf of Carlisle, and Linda (Gundrum) Brown and her husband Richard of Milton; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a great, great granddaughter.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son Larry W. Gundrum in 1987; three grandchildren Jeffrey C. Batdorf in 1989, Harry E. Gundrum IV in 1993 and Sherry Ann Gundrum in 1964; and a great grandson Bradley Allen Batdorf in 1993.

Friends and relatives will be received on Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 11:00 to 12:00 at the Shaw Funeral Home 400 N. Front St. Milton.  Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM with Pastor Mark Messner officiating.  Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Milton.
