Betty M. Spooner

1924 - 2015

Betty M. Spooner, 91, formerly of Williamsport, Mechanicsburg, and most recently the Cottages at Buffalo Valley in Lewisburg, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.

Born in Moosic on April 5, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Stephenson and Pearl Aton.  She was married to Jack Spooner.  Her death breaks a marital union of 70 years.

She had worked for Hall’s Trucking, Britt’s Department Store and JC Penny both in Williamsport.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and loved her crossword puzzles.  She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Lewisburg

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and a son in law Sharon Moye of Boiling Springs, and Christine and John Kroboth of Linden; a son and daughter in law J Rex and Tracy Spooner of Camp Hill; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 3 great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son Jonathan Spooner; a brother Ted and six sisters Margie, Pearl, Mary, Lois, Dorothy, and Shirley.

Following Betty’s wishes private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are under the care of the Shaw Funeral Home 400 N. Front St. Milton.
